Overheard on DreamScape II…

“You know what I really miss on Secondlife? ….Walmart!”

Sometimes being a landlord on SL is quite difficult dealing with different personalities treating SL as real life. Things escalate so quickly and emotions run so high when someone doesn’t understand a function or weirdness of SL. Sometimes people think I’m some miracle-worker on the island, maybe I am, maybe I just learn fast. Sometimes being a landlord means your tennant takes nothing seriously. Sometimes being a landlord means being ignored. Sometimes being a landlord means that land owners abuse your expertise and think you are there to serve them 24/7, nevermind you might have a life of your own on SL. Sometimes being a landlord is stressful. Sometimes being a landlord means that your tenants will NEVER read anything on their own to learn or educate themselves about this wonderful SL world. (note to self to write a prim primer) Sometimes being a landlord you get an IM at 3 am and when you read it you take a drink at the same time and spray cola all over your monitor in hysteria.

I’ll preface this post by saying that we’ve had so many unusual items “lost” on our island. One of the most unusual items we’ve had lost for several months is a Russian Balalaika. That darned thing was 48 prims and took forever to find the whereabouts! I’ve found a human saddle (yes really) in the sky and we have some strange happenings over at Merlina and Marco’s place with the mystery missing sofa. Indigo and I have found several unmentionables in the weirdest places. Anjolie looses everything, but I think…well maybe it is best to say she’s just a huge dorkess sometimes! If you see a beautiful new raft, with bright orange pillows, please let Anj know! I think she’s lost a few houses too!

I’ve lost two flying bluejays. It is rather fun to think that they are off flying in some other sim…free.

The latest funny is the late night IM I got. I’ll see if you can guess who it was?

“i am such a blonde.. when u get a chance i could use ur help…lol.. my house went into the cliff. i have a copy of it so u can just delete it… im so sorry. went to wear one of my snakes and ended up wearing my home…lol”

Is it that easy to wear your house that is already rezzed? LOL Now this wouldn’t be quite as funny if you didn’t know that we had an all out island search for her white tiger just a few weeks before this! I am happy to report, the house was located buried deep inside Buena Vista cliff and it was happily returned to its owner. Equally happy are all the residents that the tiger was caught and now resides back on her home range.

Gosh those prims add up when you people lose stuff! LOL If you get prim returned to you from me it is either that you have rezzed it on my land, you lost it, or that it was auto returned to you and I know nothing about it. I will return it though if it is drawing on my prim. You all know just how precious they truly are!

For all you tekkies out there, who just can’t stand to be without your SL or your DreamScape, it will soon be available on 3G handsets. Vollee’s streaming mobile game service will conduct beta trials in May 2008. You can read the FAQ’s and pre-register at: Vollee 3G Second Life World.

For those of you who have no idea what 3G is:
3G refers to the third generation of developments in wireless technology, especially mobile communications. The third generation, as its name suggests, follows the first generation (1G) and second generation (2G) in wireless communications.

Anything can happen...

It is no secret that the inhabitants of DreamScape I & II are some of the friendliest people on Second Life! So many of the residents know one another and have impromptu get-togethers. It’s not uncommon for me to log on and get an IM that says,

“Get over here we are all dancing,”

and I will find everyone at the bottom of the ocean having a great time! Since we have a huge pool, often residents will hang out there and just get to know one another. I find people meeting at the bar at the Indigo Blue Lounge and just standing around the docks. Some residents knew each other before they moved to DreamScape. Some are making new friends. Some come and go and others stay in our hearts forever. Some we really never get to know before they leave our island, but know that we care about each of you.

I thought I’d share a few photos of some non-planned events! The first photo is a crazy get together at Tab’s DreamScape I grounds. Anjolie, and I are checking to see if we wore deodorant!

Do you recognize the men on the pole? One is a resident, and one is just doing everything he’s told! Granite and Marco, we love you guys! Thanks for wearing the girls silks (sign of a true man) and giving us a giggle!Guys Dance!

About Dreamscape

The DreamScape Islands I & II of Second Life are two lushly terraformed private estate islands. You will find DreamScape quiet and exotic with fascinating residents. DreamScape Offers numerous amenities for our residents. DreamScape has often been described as Second Life's best kept island secret!

From just exploring to walking beaches and climbing mountains, we have everything an island can offer to a SL resident. There is a huge Venetian pool for parties, three beautiful dance floors, and cozy campfires and hidden cuddle areas. Each Dreamscape Island has its own personality.

If becoming a land owner isn’t what you need right now, we offer rentals by the week. Currently we have 18 rentals that have four payment levels. Our rentals are highly desirable because we have spared no prim in developing them.

Try a get-away and see if you could bear to leave this magnificent place. We invite you to come meet us, and see what we can offer. Make your Second Life the life you have always dreamed of, on DreamScape.
